So the other day, I am listening to music with a friend of mine and he plays this song called "I'm on a Boat!" As I listened to this song for the first time, I thought about how ridiculous the lyrics were and how obscene the entire idea of a song about being on a boat really was. I mean the song is LITERALLY about nothing except being on a boat!!!! The sad thing is that the song really works! I guess this is just proof that you can any song a hit if you add T-Pain to the mix!!!!!

Greek Week is the worst creation ever!

So, after going through two Greek Weeks in the last two years, I have come to the conclusion that Greek Week is the worst possible event to hold for the purpose of promoting Greek unity. Every year Greek organizations get together to organize events in order to compete with each other and to promote unity. The problem is that all this competition does is create havoc and encourage individuals to try to tear apart their competition. Greek Week always ends with more hatred than acceptance and more division than unity. So what is the point?

This just in....Robyn Gibson has filed for divorce after 28 years of marriage to actor/director Mel Gibson. You might know Mel Gibson from the Lethal Weapon saga. He also directed the Passion of the Christ, a movie for which Mel Gibson was chastised for the antisemetism present throughout the entire movie. So for all of you who don't like Mel Gibson as a person...here is to hoping his wife takes it all!

British Actress Claire Sweeney Hit On by President Bill Clinton

During Bill Clinton's Presidency, he was over in England for a Costume party. Clinton showed up dressed as an admiral, probably looking like Captain Crunch! Ha-ha. Anyway "Sweeney, who was at the party with her then-boyfriend, told Channel Five's The Wright Stuff: 'Clinton came over and started chatting me up. I thought: "You dirty dog." His bodyguard then came over and said: "Mr. President, we need to go."' However, Clinton managed to shake off his bodyguard and swiftly made a beeline back to Sweeney, who was dressed in a saucy Dangerous Liaisons-style outfit. The 37-year-old asked him: 'You don't want to go, do you? He said "How can you tell?" I said "Because your left leg is dancing."' To which 62-year-old Clinton is alleged to have responded: 'My middle leg will be dancing soon!' Sweeney, who played Roxie Hart in the musical Chicago--" Ha! Well, we can debate whether it's an awful line or a good line, if he indeed said it. Sweeney said, "'I shook his hand but decided I was going home with a clean dress that night!' Clinton, married to Hillary who is now U.S. Secretary of State, was impeached over his fling --" Why they running this story now? The story comes out, this happened when Clinton was president. (impersonating Clinton) "Yeah, Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha. Yeah, my middle leg is gonna be dancing soon, baby, if you head home with me. Ha-ha-ha."

Facebook CFO Gideon Yu Leaves!

According to CNET.com, Facebook chief financial officer Gideon Yu is leaving the company, representatives from the social network confirmed Tuesday.

"Facebook confirms that CFO Gideon Yu will be leaving the company," a statement from Facebook read. "Gideon has played an important role in helping us achieve our financial success, building a strong finance team and establishing the core financial operations of our company. We are grateful to Gideon for his contributions to Facebook and what we are trying to accomplish."

Yu, a former Google employee who was brought on board there when it acquired YouTube, had been hired fewer than two years ago, and the Journal reported that Facebook is currently hunting for a replacement who has experience running a public company. Prior to YouTube, Yu had been employed as "treasurer" at Yahoo. He also has side projects, joining the team of high-profile investors--including the new Google Ventures--in e-commerce start-up Pixazza.

Yu was one of the first in a string of prominent Googlers to join Facebook's upper ranks as it rose to the top of Silicon Valley's pecking order. Eventually, sales chief Sheryl Sandberg joined the company as chief operating officer, and public affairs czar Elliot Schrage was hired as head of global communications.

So now it looks like Facebook's plan is to push for an IPO. With Yu at the helm of its finances, rumors had swirled for months that it was looking to raise additional venture capital funding to fuel its exponential growth. The company will likely hit 200 million members worldwide within days, a mass that requires costly hardware and personnel around the globe. Persistent reports hinted that not only was Yu attempting to drum up interest in more funding, but that he was having a tough time doing so.

Facebook's valuation was hit hard by the recession, with private stock trading dipping to lower and lower values and Forbes magazine speculating that founder Mark Zuckerberg had lost his status as a paper billionaire as a result. In November 2007, Microsoft invested $240 million in Facebook at a $15 billion valuation. These days, Facebook is lucky if its valuation is a third of that. But it eventually became evident that the $15 billion was never a reality: Microsoft's stake was in preferred stock, and the $15 billion was a term of the deal.

Going public is a risky move for any company in a recession, particularly one that is still on the road to profitability but not there yet. But for Facebook, with the quest for more venture funding growing increasingly fruitless, it may be the best road out.

Murdock Research Campus to appear on Oprah

According to the Triangle Business Journal, David Murdock, the owner of the Dole Food Company, will appear on the Oprah Winfrey Show this Tuesday at 4p.m. The topic discussed will be the research taking place at the North Carolina Research Campus. This campus is for the advancement of biotechnology and health research.

In honor of all the health talk here is a red wine sangria that is healthy for you!

George Kell Dies!

The great George Kell died Tuesday at age 86. He was one of the few living legends of Baseball. He was a hall of fame third base player and long time newscaster. His signature phrase was "he hit the ball as far as you can in this ballpark!" In memorial of the late great Kell, here is a drink to share in memory.

Leann Rimes is having an affair!

According to US weekly, Leann Rimes was caught on security cameras with her new beau in Laguna Beach, California. This is bad because she is married to Dean Sheremet, a former backup dancer. This alleged affair is between Rimes and her co-star from the made for TV movie, Northern Lights. The co-star is Eddie Cibrian.

Don Imus has cancer!

Radio personality Don Imus said that he has prostate cancer. Imus, who is 68, made the remarks during the Monday morning broadcast of his syndicated “Imus in the Morning” radio show. He said that he has stage II prostate cancer, giving no further details of his prognosis, but added that he was confident his doctors would beat it.

Imus speculated on air that the cancer could be a result of stress. Discussing his diagnosis on the show, Imus said, “The day you find out is fine. But the next morning when you get up, your knees are shaking. I didn’t think I could make it to work.”

Imus was heavily criticized in 2007 for making racist remarks on air about the Rutgers women’s basketball team; his show was canceled, but he resumed broadcasting shortly after.

So heres to Imus and hopefully a quick recovery!

Robert Venturi Architecture saved!

The Lieb House, a beach cottage designed by the prominent Philadelphia architect, Robert Venturi, has been widely studied as a model of modernist architecture, was nearly torn down. Instead, on Friday, the house continued its unusual interstate journey, plodding up the East River on a barge, destined for a new resting place in Glen Cove on the North Shore of Long Island. What used to be a beacon of fine architecture in New Jersey will now rest in New York starting today.

A great way to relax during Mardi Gras!Make it Fat Tuesday EVERYDAY!
Facts:
The hurricane is a sweet alcoholic drink made from lime juice, passion fuit syrup, and rum...lots of rum! The creation of this Daquiri relative is accredited to Pat O'Brien. In the 1940's he got stuck with a bunch of rum he couldn't sell. So he gave it away in lamp-shaped glasses to sailors. The drink caught on and has been a staple drink of those who travel to the French Quarter of New Orleans each year to bask in the glory that is relaxation brought on by our old friend Al-cohol.
to make it:
2oz dark rum
2oz light rum
2oz passion fruit mix
1/2oz lime juice
1oz orange juice
shake all ingredients with ice
pour in cup and take a ride!
